Probably the most challenging, and fun, paintings I have ever done. For each president I probably looked at hundreds of images and used a dozen for reference when I painted. The whole process of researching the images and the personalities made me appreciate the sacrifices and contributions of all these men. For this reason, I made an effort to show the best side of each man and left all satire to the political cartoonists.
Democrats (Counterclockwise around the table beginning in lower left): Jimmy Carter, F. Roosevelt, Jackson, Truman, Lyndon B. Johnson, Woodrow Wilson, President Clinton, John F. Kennedy.
